What is Non Absorbable Sutures
Non absorbable sutures are surgical sutures that are implanted in the human body and are not degraded by tissues, requiring postoperative suture removal (or permanent retention). The core characteristics are long-lasting mechanical strength and strong stability.
Non absorbable suture materials are mostly inert polymers or natural fibers, commonly including silk thread, nylon, polypropylene, polyester, etc.
After implantation, there is no biodegradation and the structure remains intact. It needs to be removed through surgery or manual suture removal. In some special cases (such as heart valve fixation), it can be permanently retained in the body.
