What is Absorbable Sutures?
Absorbable suture is a surgical suture that can be gradually degraded and absorbed by tissues after implantation in the human body, without the need for suture removal.
Absorbable suture materials are mostly natural or synthetic polymer materials, with natural materials including catgut and synthetic materials such as polyglycolic acid, polylactic acid, and their copolymers.
After implantation, it is broken down through enzymatic hydrolysis, hydrolysis and other processes in the body, and finally metabolized into carbon dioxide and water, which are excreted from the body without the need for secondary surgery to remove the stitches.
