What is Silk Tape？
Silk tape is a tape made of silk fabric as the substrate, coated with medical grade or industrial grade adhesive. Its core characteristics are strong flexibility, high adhesion, and easy tearing. According to its use, it can be divided into two categories: medical and industrial, with significant differences in applicable scenarios.
Substrate layer
The core is made of silk fabric (mostly silk or polyester imitation silk), which is lightweight, soft, and has good extensibility. It can fit irregular surfaces (such as human joints and equipment corners) and is not easily broken or deformed when torn.
Adhesive layer
Choose different adhesives according to the purpose. Medical products are mostly low sensitivity acrylic adhesives (mild and non irritating to the skin), while industrial products are mostly strong adhesive rubber or resin adhesives (suitable for metal, plastic and other materials).
Release layer
Some products (especially medical models) are covered with paper release paper on the surface to protect the adhesive from contamination, and can be directly peeled off during use.
