Inoculation loop/ Smear loop/Inoculation wand/Microstreaker, is made from high quality polypropylene and polystyrene. It's a simple tool used mainly by microbiologists to retrieve an inoculum from a culture of microorganisms. The stems of Inoculation loopare flexible and can be bent to access small volume tubes and dishes and they are color-coded for easy identification. The loop is used in the cultivation of microbes on plates by transferring inoculum for streaking.
It can also be used to transfer microscopic organisms. Touching a broth or a culture plate will gather enough microbes for inoculation. The surface of the Inoculation loop are special treated, they are packaged in bulk or individual packed in plastic bags and are steriled (E.O or gamma irradiated).
