According to statistics from the National Cancer Center, the 5-year survival rate of cancer patients in China has increased from 40.5% in 2015 to 43.7% in 2022, achieving the phased goal of the Healthy China Action as scheduled. This is due to the cancer early diagnosis and treatment projects launched in China in recent years, and more and more early cancer patients are being detected during screening.
In recent years, the country has continuously improved the coverage of cancer early diagnosis and treatment projects, and the coverage of breast cancer and cervical cancer screening districts and counties has exceeded 90%. During this period, the Health Commission of Guangxin District, Shangrao City, Jiangxi Province organized medical personnel to go into the countryside to carry out "two cancers" screening for breast cancer cancer and cervical cancer for school-age women, and implement "point-to-point" unified management and regular return visits for abnormal and suspicious cases that have been screened.
Wang Liuying, a rural resident of Hucun Village, Guangxin District, Shangrao City, Jiangxi Province, said that she did not expect that it is so convenient to have an examination at her doorstep now, and it is still free, which is very good.
Zhou Guilian, Secretary of the Party Branch of Guangxin District Maternal and Child Health Hospital in Shangrao City, Jiangxi Province, introduced that "two cancer" screening will continue to be carried out in communities, rural areas, and enterprises, so that "two cancer" free screening activities can benefit every eligible eligible woman of appropriate age.
Shanghai, Zhejiang, Tianjin, Jiangsu and other places have included key cancer screening in government livelihood projects and provided it to residents for free. Starting from 2020, Zhejiang has provided free colorectal cancer screening for key populations. At Changxing County Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, patient Liu Pingliang has just undergone radical surgery for rectal cancer and is currently recovering well. Half a month ago, he discovered rectal cancer during free screening.
Tang Haoxiang, the head of the Disease Prevention and Control Department of Changxing County Health Bureau, introduced that currently, the county has screened more than 120000 key populations, implemented more than 7300 colonoscopy cases, and screened a total of 60 patients with colorectal cancer.
As of 2022, the early diagnosis rate of key cancer species in high-risk areas of China has reached over 55%, which has played a positive role in improving the five-year survival rate of cancer patients.
