In May of this year, the Central Cyberspace Administration's Reporting Center and the Science Popularization Department of the China Association for Science and Technology jointly released the "Top Ten Cases of Resisting Fake Science Popularization", of which 8 are directly related to health. A previous survey by the China Association for Science and Technology also showed that about 35% of the previously released debunking content was focused on the health sector.
Health issues have received widespread attention from people, with great potential for drainage and monetization. With the tightening of supervision on various platforms, it is easy to violate regulations by directly selling health products, therapeutic devices and other products. Therefore, some illegal elements use the banner of "popularizing science" to attract fans and sell products.
