Researchers at the University of Oxford have found that vitamin B12 helps fight brain atrophy with age, according to the US "doctor of network medicine". In daily diet, eating more fish, meat and milk can achieve brain strengthening effect.

The researchers selected 107 elderly people aged 61-87 for the study. The average age of the subjects was 73 years, of which 54% were women. The researchers collected their blood samples, tested their vitamin B12 levels, and conducted brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), memory and physical fitness tests once a year.

When comparing the results, the researchers were surprised to find that people with high blood vitamin B12 levels had a 60% lower risk of brain atrophy than others.

The researchers stressed that many factors affecting brain health have always been considered uncontrollable, but this study suggests that more vitamin B12 can be obtained through simple dietary adjustment, which can slow brain atrophy to a certain extent.

Vitamin B12 is widely found in meat, fish and milk. By eating these foods, we can slow down the occurrence of brain atrophy, which may also improve our memory.
