November 26th is the 10th National Heart Failure Day. According to experts, there are various situations in winter that may trigger heart failure, and it is necessary to strengthen self health management and seek medical attention as soon as relevant symptoms are detected.
Qian Zhaoxin, Vice President of Xiangya Hospital at Central South University and an expert in cardiology, introduced that heart failure is the final stage of various heart diseases, characterized by the inability of the heart to pump blood sufficiently. Especially in winter, blood vessels in the human body contract, blood pressure rises, and the burden on the heart increases, making it easy for cardiovascular disease patients to develop heart failure
Many people have insufficient awareness of the risks of heart failure, "said Tang Huifang, the executive director of the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanhua University and an expert in cardiology. Heart failure is a chronic disease, and the mortality rate of late stage patients even exceeds that of malignant tumors.
How can heart failure be effectively prevented and treated? Experts provide suggestions from three aspects:
Firstly, early identification of high-risk populations. Tang Huifang said: "Patients with hypertension, coronary heart disease, diabetes, obesity and other basic diseases; people with a history of using cardiotoxic drugs, alcoholism; patients with a history of rheumatic fever or family history of cardiomyopathy, these people are high-risk groups of heart failure, and need to be extra vigilant."
Secondly, adhere to standardized treatment. The treatment of heart failure is a systematic project that requires multidisciplinary cooperation, "Tang Huifang emphasized. The treatment process includes multiple links such as acute phase treatment, chronic phase medication optimization, and complication management. It is particularly important to note that treatment should be carried out throughout the entire process before, during, and after hospitalization, and should also be accompanied by exercise rehabilitation, lifestyle improvement, and psychological support
The third is to do a good job in self health management. Restricting sodium intake, drinking water reasonably, and exercising appropriately are key aspects of heart failure management, "Qian Zhaoxin said. Cardiovascular disease patients should pay special attention to keeping warm, preventing colds, and resting to avoid fatigue in winter, in order to reduce the burden on the heart.
