The "World Health Day 2026: Mastering Your Healthy Life -18 District Health Promotion Tour" program, jointly organized by the Home Affairs and Youth Affairs Bureau of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, the Hong Kong Regional Service and Care Team, and the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Hong Kong, was launched on the 7th in Sai Ying Pun, Hong Kong, and carried out the first district outreach health promotion activity to strengthen grassroots health support at the community level and enable citizens to acquire practical health knowledge.
The Secretary for Home Affairs and Youth Affairs of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, Mai Meijuan, stated that this cooperation can combine the community network of the Care Team with the professional medical knowledge of the University of Hong Kong School of Medicine, further promote community health services, and advance the concept of "health rooted in the community". We hope that this plan will not only enhance citizens' attention to physical and mental health, but also unite community forces to shape a healthy life together.
The "18 Districts Caring for Health Tour" lasts for one year and provides free health screening, lectures, community sports experiences, elderly and family health consultations and other services in all districts of Hong Kong, aiming to promote preventive medicine and improve the overall health level of the community. In the coming months, we plan to launch multiple activities tailored to the needs of different communities to enhance public health awareness
