The National Health Commission held a press conference on November 6th to introduce the situation related to "seasonal solar terms and health".
Peng Zhibin, a researcher at the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, suggested that on the basis of maintaining good personal hygiene habits and paying attention to environmental cleanliness and hygiene, the following protective measures can be taken for key populations such as the elderly and young children:
One is to start vaccination as early as possible. Getting vaccinated can reduce the risk of illness and related serious illnesses. You should refer to the relevant vaccination procedures to receive influenza vaccines, pneumococcal vaccines, and other related vaccines.
Secondly, during the season of high incidence of respiratory infectious diseases, young children and the elderly should try to avoid crowded places as much as possible. If it is necessary to go, it is recommended to wear masks scientifically.
Thirdly, it is necessary to strengthen the daily health monitoring of the elderly and young children. Once symptoms related to fever and cough occur, timely medical attention should be sought and medication should be taken scientifically and safely according to medical advice. At the same time, if family members experience respiratory infectious diseases such as fever and respiratory symptoms, they should try to avoid close contact, especially with elderly or young children in the family. When we bring a child with symptoms such as fever and cough to the clinic, we should take good care of the child's and our own health protection, wear masks, and avoid cross infection.
