Recently, the 10th Academic Annual Meeting of the Chronic Disease Management Professional Committee of the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies and the 2026 Academic Conference of the Chronic Disease Management Professional Committee of the Shaanxi Provincial Association of Chinese Medicine were held in Xi'an, Shaanxi Province. The conference is hosted by the World Federation of Traditional Chinese Medicine Chronic Disease Management Committee and organized by the Shaanxi Society of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the Affiliated Hospital of Shaanxi University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. With the theme of "Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Chronic Disease Management to Support the Big Health Strategy", it brings together more than 300 backbone medical institutions, traditional Chinese medicine experts and scholars at home and abroad to conduct in-depth discussions on topics such as the full cycle control of traditional Chinese medicine chronic diseases, the improvement of grassroots service capabilities, and the construction of county-level medical communities, injecting strong momentum into the high-quality development of traditional Chinese medicine chronic disease prevention and control in the northwest region. Traditional Chinese medicine has distinct characteristics and outstanding advantages in the full cycle management of chronic disease prevention, intervention, and rehabilitation. In his opening speech, Xu Chunbo stated that World Federation of Chinese Medicine will continue to deepen comprehensive and in-depth cooperation with the traditional Chinese medicine industry in Shaanxi, integrate high-quality academic resources from around the world, promote the international promotion of cutting-edge technologies and characteristic achievements in the management of chronic diseases in traditional Chinese medicine, and assist traditional Chinese medicine in deeply participating in global health governance, contributing to the construction of a human health community with the strength of traditional Chinese medicine. Li Bin stated that this high-level academic conference has landed in Shaanxi, providing a top exchange platform for the construction of traditional Chinese medicine disciplines and talent cultivation in the province. The industry should fully transform the academic achievements of the conference, fill the gaps in the diagnosis and treatment of chronic diseases at the grassroots level, and promote the standardization, quality improvement, refinement, and efficiency enhancement of chronic disease management in Shaanxi's traditional Chinese medicine. Ma Guanghui reviewed the construction achievements of the Chronic Disease Management Committee of Shaanxi Provincial Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine since its establishment in 2023, and called on the committee to deepen its main business of chronic disease prevention and control, and continuously improve the traditional Chinese medicine chronic disease prevention and control system.
