Five Animal Play, Eight Section Brocade, Yi Jin Jing, Seven Star Technique... These health preserving techniques that have been passed down for thousands of years are showcased in Hefei, Anhui Province, competing together on the same stage. From August 21st to 24th, a series of promotion activities for traditional Chinese medicine health sports with the theme of "Charm Transmission, Apricot Forest Shines in Anhui" were held at Anhui University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. The series of activities includes academic exchanges on traditional health sports, the introduction of traditional Chinese medicine health methods into communities, and traditional health sports events in traditional Chinese medicine colleges, highlighting the three in one feature of "research transmission competition", connecting theoretical research, method popularization, and arena display, showcasing the unique value of traditional Chinese medicine health concepts and traditional sports. This event is guided by the Chinese Society of Higher Education, hosted by the Chinese Medicine Higher Education Branch of the Chinese Society of Higher Education, and organized by Anhui University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Teachers and students from 27 universities across the country offering traditional Chinese medicine majors participate.
Traditional Chinese medicine health sports are rooted in excellent traditional Chinese culture, integrating fitness, health preservation, and disease prevention. They are not only an important part of the treasure trove of traditional Chinese medicine, but also a vivid practical carrier for implementing the concept of health first education. Currently, the public's demand for health is shifting from "disease treatment" to "comprehensive and full cycle prevention and care". Traditional health sports are facing unprecedented development opportunities, but also practical challenges such as insufficient theoretical system sorting, lagging standardization promotion, and insufficient depth of education integration.
