On November 15th, at a press conference held by the National Health Commission, Zhang Yong, Secretary of the Party Committee of the National Cancer Center, stated that it cannot be generalized whether cancer incidence is becoming younger. The age distribution of different cancers varies greatly. As the aging population in our country gradually intensifies, if we simply look at the average age of onset, the average age of cancer onset shows a gradual upward trend, which means that the proportion of cancer incidence among the elderly in the total population is increasing.
According to the cancer registration data of the population with long-term continuous monitoring data from the National Cancer Center, if the influence of population aging factors is deducted, that is, assuming the population structure remains unchanged, most cancer outbreaks do not show a trend of youthfulness or aging, but remain relatively stable. However, the age distribution of individual cancers, such as prostate cancer, does gradually tend to be younger, while the age distribution of lung cancer gradually increases.
