The National Health Commission held a press conference on the 26th to introduce the relevant situation of promoting reproductive health. Fu Wei, Director of the Maternal and Child Health Department of the National Health Commission, stated that in recent years, the commission has organically linked "birth" and "reproduction", promoting the development of high-quality maternal and child health services throughout the entire chain, focusing on "being able to conceive, have a good pregnancy, have a safe birth, have a good child, and grow up healthy".
One is to strengthen the prevention and treatment of infertility in terms of 'being able to conceive'. Promote the core information of health education, advocate for a healthy lifestyle, and protect fertility. Guide medical institutions to provide standardized diagnosis and treatment services for infertility, including psychological counseling, traditional Chinese medicine regulation, medication and surgical treatment, scientific weight loss, and health management. From clinical practice, through the above comprehensive methods, 80% -90% of couples with fertility difficulties can conceive naturally. At the same time, the National Health Commission has strengthened the access management and orderly application of human assisted reproductive technology. There are 645 assisted reproductive institutions nationwide, and the success rate of related technologies has reached the international advanced level, which better meets the needs of the masses for assisted reproduction.
The second is to improve the level of eugenics and child rearing services in terms of achieving optimal pregnancy. Using early pregnancy care clinics as a carrier, we provide unified reception and classified services for early pregnant women, helping them reduce anxiety and achieve scientific pregnancy. Strengthening the comprehensive prevention and control of birth defects, ensuring the four lines of defense before marriage, pregnancy, pregnancy, and neonatal period. During the 14th Five Year Plan period, the prenatal screening rate and pre pregnancy examination rate remained above 90%, and the newborn disease screening rate exceeded 99%, effectively reducing the occurrence of serious birth defects. We strengthened the blocking of mother to child transmission of infectious diseases, provided free screening services for pregnant women for AIDS, syphilis and hepatitis B, and effectively avoided abortion, congenital defects and other adverse reproductive outcomes caused by mother to child transmission of infectious diseases.
Thirdly, in terms of "safe birth", we will make every effort to ensure the safety of mothers and infants. We have fully implemented pregnancy risk screening and assessment, implemented special management for high-risk pregnant women, and improved the ability to treat critically ill pregnant women and newborns. The national maternal system management rate has remained above 90%, and the hospital delivery rate has remained stable at over 99%. We have built 3571 critically ill pregnant women treatment centers and 3221 critically ill newborn treatment centers to protect the safety of mothers and infants. At the same time, we will promote the construction of maternity friendly hospitals, with a focus on increasing the number of single and double rooms in obstetrics wards, comprehensively providing drug analgesia delivery services, and providing personalized and warm services centered on mothers. Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, relying on various levels of maternal and child health care institutions, specialized hospitals, and comprehensive hospitals, we have strengthened coordination and linkage, further woven a tight maternal and child safety guarantee network, and the national maternal and infant mortality rates have continued to decline, firmly safeguarding the life safety and health of women and children. We have been rated as one of the high-performance countries in global maternal and child health by the World Health Organization.
