It is already winter. Although the temperature in the south is not as low as that in the north, the temperature difference between morning and evening is large, so we should also pay attention to keeping warm. Li Jieruo, deputy chief physician of the Sports Medical Center of the First Affiliated Hospital of Jinan University, reminded that every autumn and winter, many middle-aged and elderly friends have more knee pain problems, and the following aspects need special attention:
Keep your knees warm when cooling down
Although there is no evidence to prove that cold knee joint is the exact cause of arthritis and arthralgia, for friends who have arthritis, cold knee joint is one of the important factors inducing the onset of arthritis. Cold can stimulate the knee synovium to secrete more inflammatory factors, which will lead to "redness, swelling, heat and pain" of the knee joint, which is often referred to as "old cold leg".
For young sports lovers, a cold knee joint may cause vasoconstriction, which may lead to poor local blood circulation, affect the recovery of muscles, tendons and other soft tissues after exercise, or cause discomfort such as soreness around the joint.
Therefore, no matter for middle-aged and old people or young people, we should pay attention to keeping the knee warm in autumn and winter, and never wear less clothes for convenience or beauty. It is important to keep your joints warm.
Increased factors of knee joint wear
In winter, there is plenty of sunshine outdoors. Many friends like outdoor sports, which is a good thing. But don't forget to make full preparations and relax and stretch after exercise. Some weight-bearing knee flexion and extension movements are not suitable for middle-aged and elderly friends to do more, such as squatting, going up and down stairs repeatedly, etc. For young friends, if the temperature is low, the warm-up time may be extended, but we should also pay attention to controlling the intensity and time of sports, and avoid blindly pursuing the intensity and time of sports. If there is obvious discomfort in the knee joint, we should adjust it in time.
Pay attention to knee joint pain caused by diet
Milk tea in autumn and winter, as well as hot pot, seafood and wine in winter, are popular with many friends. However, you should know that these excessive intake may cause high blood uric acid, thus causing acute arthritis.
Therefore, in addition to healthy sports, I suggest that you should also control your mouth and resist the temptation of food properly. The high sugar of milk tea (as well as other drinks and food) and the high uric acid easily caused by hot pot, seafood and alcohol are all obstacles to joint health. It is suggested that people should eat healthily and control their food intake. The best drink is boiled water or tea with proper concentration.
Knee pain should be diagnosed and treated early
Li Jieruo recently received a middle-aged aunt, who has suffered from knee pain for more than 3 months. Radiography showed that the joint space was normal, and MRI showed typical meniscus injury. Auntie had to be busy with family affairs, so she waited for 3 months to have arthroscopic surgery. During the operation, I saw that the meniscus was torn and worn, and the operation was repaired by suturing. Fortunately, the aunt's articular cartilage was not badly worn. After rehabilitation exercise and maintenance, it would have an ideal therapeutic effect.
However, this is not the case for every knee pain. There are many middle-aged people with meniscal injuries. If they are not treated in time, the articular cartilage will wear very badly within a few months. Once the cartilage is worn, or even the subchondral bone is exposed, the treatment will not only cost much, but also the repair effect will be greatly reduced, or even cannot be restored.
Therefore, if knee pain occurs, it is better to go to the hospital for diagnosis as early as possible. The doctor should check and judge the condition and extent of the disease, and then choose the corresponding scientific treatment plan. It is not advisable to delay the illness.
