Getting vaccinated against influenza is an effective means of preventing influenza and reducing influenza related illness and death.

So, who needs to get vaccinated against influenza?

The "Technical Guidelines for Influenza Vaccination in China (2023-2024)" recommend that all individuals aged ≥ 6 months and without contraindications for vaccination should receive the influenza vaccine. In addition to elderly people aged 60 and above and children aged 6-59 months, the following groups are also recommended for timely vaccination:

Medical workers: such as clinical personnel, public health personnel, health quarantine personnel, etc;

Chronic patient group: a group of patients suffering from one or more chronic diseases;

Vulnerable groups and employees in gathering places such as elderly care institutions, childcare institutions, and welfare homes;

Primary and secondary school teachers and students;

Pregnant women;

Family members and caregivers of infants under 6 months of age.

Individuals who meet the vaccination conditions can make an appointment for vaccination at a nearby vaccination site near their residence, or pay attention to the information released by the local community health service center or hospital's small programs, official account, etc., and make an appointment for vaccination through the online platform.
