At present, pressure has become an inevitable part of people's daily life, lurking in people's bodies, and imperceptibly changing people. Obviously, people's physical reactions are often influenced by these mental changes. Just as previous studies have reported that psychological stress can directly affect the body temperature, some extreme psychological changes can even lead to the occurrence of immune diseases.

For example, psychological stress can activate certain neural pathways to induce inflammation. In the specific study, the researchers constructed a mouse restraint pressure model and applied it to HBB mutant sickle cell anemia (SCD) mice. On the third day of the experiment, TNF was injected α VOEs was induced by surgery.

The results showed that in the pressure group, leukocyte adhesion, which was previously reported to be crucial for VOEs production, was significantly increased, and the interaction between sickle cells and leukocytes was also significantly stronger; Correspondingly, the blood flow parameters of the pressure group were significantly decreased, and the occlusion was more serious; The death rate of the stress group was much higher than that of the control group.

These results indicate that there are more severe inflammatory reactions and vascular occlusion in the pressure group. In addition to increasing inflammation, now a new study shows that psychological stress can also block the immune system's defense against cancer.
