Recently, some criminals have fabricated the lie of "requiring a deposit" under the pretext of "receiving free childcare subsidies" to carry out telecommunications network fraud. On August 28th, the Anti Fraud Center of Taojiang County Public Security Bureau in Yiyang City, Hunan Province, quickly acted with a precise warning mechanism and successfully dissuaded a fraud of this kind, timely stopping the loss of 20000 yuan for Ms. Kuang, a resident in the jurisdiction.
At 17:45 on the same day, the Anti Fraud Center of Taojiang County Public Security Bureau received an emergency warning instruction from the higher authorities, indicating that Ms. Kuang, a resident in the jurisdiction, may be experiencing telecommunications network fraud. The Anti Fraud Center immediately dispatched police officers from Majitang Police Station to the scene for disposal. When the police arrived at Ms. Kuang's residence quickly, they found that she was transferring 20000 yuan to a fraudulent account through WeChat. The police immediately intervened and successfully interrupted her transfer operation.
It is learned that Ms. Kuang added a WeChat friend after receiving the "child care subsidy" through Alipay. The other party informed through chat that although they can receive childcare subsidies for free, they need to add another WeChat friend and pay a deposit before they can receive them. Ms. Kuang believed it to be true and was stopped by the police officers who arrived just as she was about to transfer the money, avoiding economic losses.
Subsequently, Ms. Kuang accompanied the police to the police station. The police patiently introduced her to anti fraud knowledge, analyzed in detail the common tricks and identification methods of such fraud, and reminded her not to trust unfamiliar phone calls, not to click on unknown links, and not to transfer money to unknown accounts in the future. Ms. Kuang expressed sincere gratitude to the police for their timely assistance and admitted that she realized she had almost fallen into a fraud trap after being explained by the police.
Here is a reminder: to receive the "childcare subsidy", it is necessary to operate through official channels. When receiving the website link or QR code for "receiving childcare subsidies", be vigilant and do not click on unfamiliar links casually to prevent being deceived. If you have clicked the link in the information to enter the page, you are required to fill in the name, ID card number, bank card number, verification code and other information. If face recognition is required, do not operate! It is even more important not to transfer money according to its instructions to avoid causing property losses.
