Recent media reports have revealed that some weight-loss training camps attract participants with exaggerated claims such as "rapid extreme weight loss" and "refund if not slimmed," employing methods like extreme dieting and excessive training to achieve quick weight reduction, leading to multiple incidents of injuries and fatalities among trainees.

On September 23, Hu Qiangqiang, spokesperson for the National Health Commission, pointed out at a press conference on "Seasonal Changes and Health" organized by the commission that some institutions still face issues such as insufficient health assessments, inadequate emergency support, and a lack of qualified instructors, which pose risks to public health and property safety.

The National Health Commission reminds everyone:

● Weight is not necessarily better when lighter; avoid blindly pursuing rapid short-term weight loss.

Healthy weight management should be based on a balanced diet, moderate exercise, and a healthy lifestyle, rather than blindly pursuing rapid short-term weight loss.

Excessive dieting and overexertion may lead to dehydration, hair loss, electrolyte imbalance, muscle loss, and in severe cases, increase health risks such as cardiovascular diseases.
