According to the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, in recent years, a series of measures have been taken to accelerate the construction of advantageous traditional Chinese medicine specialties, promote the high-quality development of county-level traditional Chinese medicine hospitals, and build collaborative hospitals between Chinese and Western medicine, highlighting the unique advantages of traditional Chinese medicine.
At present, China has established 1158 national advantageous specialties in traditional Chinese medicine, and laid out clusters of advantageous specialties in traditional Chinese medicine such as orthopedics, proctology, pediatrics, and dermatology. Comprehensively promote the construction of national medical centers for traditional Chinese medicine, national regional medical centers for traditional Chinese medicine projects, key hospitals with traditional Chinese medicine characteristics, and traditional Chinese medicine rehabilitation centers. Support the construction of "two specialties and one center" in 450 county-level traditional Chinese medicine hospitals (i.e. each county-level traditional Chinese medicine hospital will establish two TCM characteristic advantage specialties and one county-level TCM suitable technology promotion center), and about 90% of counties have set up county-level TCM medical institutions. Township health centers and traditional Chinese medicine clinics in community health service centers have basically achieved full coverage. Carry out the construction of 160 major and difficult disease clinical collaboration projects between traditional Chinese medicine and Western medicine, and promote 52 integrated diagnosis and treatment plans of traditional Chinese and Western medicine.
