On December 31, 2024, in order to cope with the high incidence season of respiratory diseases in winter and spring, and to prevent and treat common cold, influenza, bronchitis, pneumonia, bronchial asthma and other diseases, the Gansu Provincial Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine organized experts to formulate the "Gansu Provincial Plan for the Prevention and Treatment of Respiratory Diseases in Winter and Spring with Traditional Chinese Medicine" (hereinafter referred to as "the Plan"), to further give play to the unique advantages of traditional Chinese medicine in the diagnosis and treatment of respiratory diseases, and popularize the concept and methods of traditional Chinese medicine prevention and health care. In terms of clinical classification and treatment, the "Plan" recommends the use of Lianhua Qingwen Capsules (granules) for wind heat invading the body syndrome, and Lianhua Qingke for heat toxin obstructing the lungs syndrome.
The symptoms of wind heat invasion include: fever or accompanied by headache, nasal congestion and runny nose, sore throat, dry mouth, mild cough with little phlegm, nausea and vomiting, discomfort in the epigastric region, fatigue and weakness, and muscle soreness. The tongue is red in color or has a pointed red edge, with thin and greasy coating and floating veins.
