Recently, the National Health Commission released the "Statistical Bulletin on the Development of China's Health Industry in 2025". According to the "Bulletin", by the end of 2025, the average life expectancy in China will reach 79.25 years, the maternal mortality rate will decrease to 13.4/100000, and the infant mortality rate will decrease to 3.8 ‰. Statistical data shows that significant progress has been made in health work. The basic medical and health system with Chinese characteristics continues to improve, the service system continues to be perfected, the disease control system is reconstructed and reshaped, fertility support policies are gradually optimized, and major health indicators continue to improve, providing strong support and guarantee for economic and social development.
The Bulletin shows that the total amount of health resources continues to steadily increase. By the end of 2025, the total number of medical and health institutions in China will be 1108335, an increase of 14784 from the previous year, including 38159 hospitals, a decrease of 551 from the previous year. By the end of 2025, there will be 13.455 million health technicians, an increase of 435000 (3.3%) from the previous year, including 8.1 million hospital health technicians. By 2025, there will be 3.78 practicing (assistant) physicians per thousand population, 3.25 practicing physicians per thousand population, 4.32 registered nurses per thousand population, and 4.91 general practitioners per 10000 population. By the end of 2025, there will be a total of 33126 township health centers in China, with 1.428 million beds and 1.698 million health personnel (including 1.448 million health technicians)
