Recently, there have been a series of Health Studies in the United States, including shift workers' susceptibility to gastrointestinal diseases, smiling makes people live longer, and weight loss can accelerate bone loss. Let's take a look at these studies one by one.

Shift workers are prone to gastrointestinal diseases

University of Michigan study found that people who work in shifts and turn the clock upside down have a higher risk of colorectal irritability than others. The large intestine has its own physiological clock. Six hours before the start of the day, the peristalsis of the large intestine will accelerate. However, shift workers are easy to disrupt the physiological rhythm for a long time. As a result, the physiological clock is disordered and the intestinal tract is poorly adapted, resulting in diarrhea, flatulence, constipation and abdominal pain.

The true causal relationship between circadian rhythm disorder and irritable bowel syndrome needs further study.

Smiling makes people live longer

A US study shows that people who smile "fully" live longer. Researchers collected 230 photos of athletes who participated in the US Baseball League before the 1950s. According to the movement range of mouth, eye and cheek muscles when the characters in the photos smiled, their smiles were divided into "no smile", "partial smile" and "full smile".

The study found that the average life span of the subjects who did not laugh was 72.9 years; The average life span of the subjects who only grinned when smiling was 75 years; "Full smile", that is, the subjects who smile and drive the relevant facial muscles, have an average life span of 79.9 years. The research shows that emotion is obviously related to psychological, physical health and life span.

Weight loss accelerates bone loss

A study by the University of Missouri found that losing excess weight can make your body healthier, but weight loss may hurt your bones. If you lose weight, your bone strength will be adjusted accordingly, and the rate of bone loss will be accelerated. Even weight-bearing training, regular fast walking and jogging can not slow down the rate of bone loss.

Experts believe that although weight loss will accelerate bone loss, weight loss can still bring many health benefits. When you lose weight, you should do aerobic exercise to increase your physical strength. At the same time, you must take enough calcium and vitamin D during weight loss to help make up for bone loss and maintain bone hardness.
