The National Health Commission held a press conference on the 8th to introduce the relationship between seasonal solar terms and health (Bai Lu). Yang Tao, chief physician of Guang'anmen Hospital of the Chinese Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine, introduced that during the period of white dew, the humidity in the northern air decreases and the temperature difference between day and night increases. At this time, the human body is easily affected by the dry climate, which is called "dryness" in traditional Chinese medicine, and symptoms such as dry mouth, dry throat, and dry skin are likely to occur. This is closely related to "autumn dryness".

The statement 'drinking plenty of water can prevent autumn dryness' is not entirely correct. The core of the harm caused by dryness is insufficient body fluid. This' body fluid' refers to all normal fluids in the body, including not only water but also other liquid substances generated by the circulation of qi and blood to maintain life activities, such as saliva, gastric juice, joint fluid, and so on.

On the one hand, drinking water is the foundation for preventing autumn dryness. Water is the main source of body fluids, and timely hydration can directly alleviate the problem of insufficient body fluids. The correct way to hydrate is to "drink warm water in small amounts multiple times": "small amounts" means no more than 200ml at a time; "multiple times" means an interval of 1-2 hours, but the interval should not be blindly fixed. Generally speaking, the amount of exercise, climate, and disease status should be considered. Patients with heart and kidney dysfunction should follow medical advice to control their water intake. In addition, warm water refers to water at 35-40 ℃.

On the other hand, the prevention and treatment of autumn dryness in traditional Chinese medicine follows the principle of "nourishing yin and moistening the lungs, generating fluids and stopping dryness", and is divided into two aspects: "diet" and "traditional Chinese medicine regulation". In terms of diet, it is recommended to use some ingredients that can nourish yin, moisten lung, and generate fluid, such as pear or white radish boiled water. At the same time, a small amount of rock sugar or hawthorn can be added to adjust the taste. You can also consider steaming pears. You can remove the core of pears and add sesame oil and a small amount of sugar to steam them. Patients with diabetes are recommended to use them carefully.

In terms of traditional Chinese medicine regulation, Yang Tao recommends two acupoints, massage for 1-2 minutes every day, with local soreness and swelling as the degree.

The first acupoint is the Zhongfu acupoint, which is located 6 inches away from the front midline of the chest, in the first intercostal space. This simple method involves finding a triangular pit below the outer edge of the clavicle, and touching the center of the pit to reach the first bone, which is the first rib. The lower edge of the first rib is this acupoint, which is an important acupoint in the lung meridian. It can be used to comb the lung meridian and relieve dry throat and cough by massaging it.

The second acupoint is Zhaohai acupoint. Zhaohai acupoint is located 1 inch below the tip of the inner ankle of the foot, which can be easily found by everyone. The method of finding this 1 inch is to mark the width of the first finger joint of the thumb as one inch for each person. Find a small depression 1 inch below the tip of the inner ankle and rub it to feel sour and swollen, which is the acupoint. This acupoint can moisturize and generate fluids, nourish yin, and treat dry mouth and throat.
