At the 2025 Haidian District Economic and Social High Quality Development Conference held recently, the National Medical Security Administration's Big Data Center was officially unveiled.
The center is responsible for the application, management, service, network security, and information construction of medical security big data, and will also promote the digital transformation of the medical security field. It is reported that the national medical insurance information platform covers the maintenance, management, and application of terminal traceability information for 1.33 billion insured individuals, 50 million employers, 930000 hospitals and pharmacies, 17900 drug consuming enterprises, 376000 drug consumables, and 60 billion boxes of medical insurance drugs annually. After the center officially settles in Haidian, it will promote the research and application of medical insurance big data in the field of medicine and health, and enhance the ability of medical insurance data to empower medical insurance reform, management, and services.
